How does it feel to be a Pro Tour Champion?

Oh, amazing! It's been an unbelievable weekend, and an amazing series of games. I think I played quite well. I'm not quite sure what else to say, honestly.

How nervous were you throughout the weekend?

I entered this event not really expecting anything, to be honest. My friends kept telling me I was the best Gravy Bones player in Singapore, I never believed them until today. I'm just happy I proved to myself that I'm actually pretty good at this game.

Enki had a very strong lead early on in that final game. At what point did you see fatigue being the path to victory?

I have tested the matchup a lot. Once you play the first Conqueror, you get tempo, so you can keep the pressure on and draw into your next one, which gives you more tempo, over and over. So the person who is being Conqueror-ed really can't get back in the tempo game.

One of the best ways to try win through that is to play for fatigue, and hope that the opponent doesn't catch on and start saving up resources. I don't think Enki realised I was trying to fatigue him until his deck was quite thin.

I started trying to fatigue him once he played the second Conqueror, because I knew once I blocked with my red Swiftwater Sloop that I was never getting back into tempo. So I was playing Sawbones just to preserve life and cards in deck. I kept track of all his allies and what I needed to kill all his stuff. My Sunken Treasures also didn't really line up, so I had to do it the hard way, I guess.

At what point during the game did it hit you that you were going to win the Pro Tour?

On the double Riggermortis turn. I was very certain that if I used Goldkiss Rum to clear both, he was really done.

What was your favourite game this weekend?

Honestly it has to be the one against Ira, where I pitch stacked a monster turn. Crack four Gold, Chart the High Seas, Back Alley Breakline, Goldkiss Rum, then Saltwater Swell, into Riggermortis, swing, into Wailer Humperdinck, swing.

It's one of the best feelings you can have playing Gravy Bones, draw a bunch of cards, play what you pitched earlier, and do exactly what you intended to do from about six turns ago.

What's the secret to your success?

My friends. They've been cheering me on since the beginning. I've always been just short of making my mark in the community. Singapore Nationals 2024 Finalist, Singapore Nationals 2025 Top 4, Calling: Taipei Top 8, I was always just short. My team has always cheered me on, telling me I can do it.

Especially at the start of this event. I actually lost my first round, and I was telling my team "Oh no, I'm cooked! I have to drop and play the Calling," and all of them told me "You got this, just do it," and it's crazy that I ended up winning the thing.

We talked earlier about you being called "Singapore's Last Hope", but I also overheard someone calling you "FAB Jesus"?

That was my draft opponent! In the second draft I highrolled him like you've NEVER seen before! On the first five turns of the game, I played blue Restless Bones or Jittery Bones, hitting an ally off the top every time. On the sixth turn, I used Washed Up Wave and topdecked an ally as well. It was just crazy!

Why did you decide to play Gravy Bones for this event? Were there any other heroes you were considering bringing?

I was actually considering playing Slippy. I used to play Nuu, Alluring Desire, and after she reached Living Legend, Slippy was like the retirement home for Nuu players. I loved Gravy Bones ever since he was released, how he plays, how he looks, his lore, "RIGERRRRRMORTISSSSS!!!", all those things.

But I was really afraid of Cindra, because Singapore Nationals had really, really high Cindra representation. So that's why I was testing Slippy, but I could not decide.

The day before the Pro Tour, I actually asked my friend to shuffle two cards (Slippy and Gravy Bones) and I randomly picked one. I actually picked Slippy, but he told me "If I beat your Slippy deck with my Gravy Bones deck, you have to play Gravy Bones."

And he beat me!

What are you most excited for in Super Slam?

Tuffnut seems really funny, I'm sure I'll enjoy playing him. I don't know if he'll be that good. Lyath Goldmane seems really strong, considering his downsides don't really affect buffs or healing, things like Fiddler's Green. I guess we'll see when more of the set is revealed, I've made the mistake before of theory-crafting a set before it's fully released, so I'm waiting to see more cards.

How are you going to spend that $50,000?

I'm going to take my team out for a nice dinner!

What's your favourite card?

Riggermortis
