From humble beginnings as Arakni, Solitary Confinement in Outsiders, the 'psycho' Arakni has crept into the Classic Constructed format in a brand new adult form, complete with hero ability retrain and the mysterious new Chaos talent. Arakni, 5L!p3d 7hRu 73h cR4X, or 'Slippy' as we like to call them, are the most aggressive of all the Assassins, with a play pattern that preys on uncertainty. The first step to building a deck is to include a large number of red stealth attacks with on-hit effects that are relevant to your local metagame. Then, you'll want to pack in a number of attack reactions such as Razor's Edge and the 'Spikes'. This keeps the opponent always guessing whether you're going to go 'wide' or 'tall', and leads to some very precarious defending situations.

Due to their hero ability, Slippy has the most dangerous potential with Kiss of Death. Since this attack is also a 'dagger', you can play it as your first attack, easily follow up with another attack, then use a 'flick' effect to destroy the Kiss of Death and cause all of its hit triggers to activate. This means cards like Toxicity or Spike with Bloodrot that were applied earlier to the Kiss of Death will trigger as a result of the 'flick', even if they already triggered earlier from the original Kiss of Death attack hitting! This deadly combination of cards allows Slippy to close games out of nowhere with sudden losses of upwards of 7 life. Note that Slippy's ability applies to all heroes, so if you're facing another Assassin, watch out for this card being used against you too.

It's not just attack actions that can get go again - Graphene Chelicera is a fantastic target as well. Creating one gives you a cheap dagger to sink spare resources into, and allows you to play a leaner build with more threats. The most efficient way to create one is with Orb-Weaver Spinneret, which allows you to apply +3 power to a red stealth attack with a dangerous on-hit the same turn you create a Graphene Chelicera for big value. This also creates another dangerous outlet for Tarantula Toxin, which is already very powerful with your stealth attack action lineup, but unbelievably deadly with Graphene Chelicera or Kiss of Death.

Threatening a follow-up attack unlocks truly devious plays with the existing Assassin kit. When the opponent carefully plays around reactions, other Assassins typically tend to arsenal their surplus cards, but you don't have to, since you can just unload them on the second attack instead. Attacking with Persuasive Prognosis or Bonds of Agony with several cards in hand will cause some unsolvable problems where the opponent has to take a 50/50 gamble. Cards like Just a Nick and Razor's Edge are hugely punishing if they don't defend, but if they do and you follow up with Leave No Witnesses or Codex of Frailty, they're toast.
